We’re a family of 6 (5 adults / 1 baby) from Singapore who decided to visit Hokkaido over year-end office shutdown period (26 Dec 25 – 5 Jan 26). Since we were travelling with a baby, and in winter, we decided to get a private driver. And since we were planning our trip last minute (<3 months from date of travel) – by then hotels and activities were filling up fast – we decided to get help from Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel.

Our consultant Mari Taniguchi-san was very responsive, refining the proposal many times until it met our needs and budget. For days where activities were unsuitable for the baby, she also proactively suggested suitable alternatives. She ensured details were covered, such as attire rental, as well as lending us a translation machine (since we opted for just a driver but not a local guide). She was supremely helpful not just during the planning stage but also during our trip.

Our trip started with a little mishap when our flight into Shin Chitose airport was cancelled the night before, due to heavy snow. Thankfully, we managed to make adjustments with our airline and fly into Asahikawa Airport instead. Despite the last minute change, Mari Taniguchi-san was able to help arrange for our driver to pick us up at Asahikawa instead. Especially in a place like Hokkaido where travel and plans may need to change due to weather, it is assuring to have a local contact who can support us accordingly.

I generally look for value-for-money, and the team was able to deliver. As someone who researches and plans every detail for my own travels, I did do additional homework, cross-checking the prices… and ultimately still decided to go with Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel, due to fair pricing and impeccable support.
