A Memorable late Spring in Hokkaido — Muslim-Friendly, Kid-Friendly and Family-Focussed

From : Singapore 4 Family member, 2026. 6

Our family was very satisfied with our trip, and we’re especially grateful to Mr Kentaro Miyamori from Hokkaido Treasures. From the start, he was prompt and meticulous in his replies. He truly put in the effort to understand our preferences — from our travel style and dietary needs to our expectations as a Muslim family with two young children. We’re quite picky eaters, but Ken made sure we had access to Muslim-friendly eateries throughout.

We had reached out in December 2024, six months before our trip, because we believe that a well-planned holiday leads to a worry-free experience — and Hokkaido Treasures matched our Singaporean work ethic perfectly. Their emphasis on quality, detailed planning, and thoughtful service gave us great peace of mind.

Information and support were always accessible, and at no point did we feel shortchanged or led into any kind of tourist trap. We’re especially thankful for the sincerity, honesty, and thoughtfulness that made this trip a truly memorable one.

It was our first time in Hokkaido, and travelling in late spring (June) turned out to be the perfect choice — with beautiful weather that allowed us to enjoy every moment of our itinerary. As Muslims, we believe in sharing rezeki (blessings), so we were happy to be photographed to support Ken in his efforts to promote Hokkaido as a welcoming destination for Muslim travellers.

The best part of our private tour was the sense of being genuinely taken care of throughout the journey. From the start, we felt safe and supported — especially with Mr Shu, our chauffeur, whose kindness and professionalism gave us great peace of mind. It was a rare treat for myself to take a break from the usual burden of managing luggage, which made the trip more relaxing for all of us.

Our children cherished the warmth and unhurried family time, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on local workshops that were thoughtfully selected — child-friendly, engaging, and meaningful, with keepsakes we could bring home. We also appreciated that there was never any pressure to buy or do things we weren’t comfortable with. Japan’s respectful and non-intrusive culture made a deep impression on us.

The planned itinerary was well thought out and suited our family perfectly. In addition to the scheduled activities, we were also able to fit in several places of personal interest, such as Hokkaido University and its museum, Mount Moiwa, Tanukikoji, Aoao Aquarium, Sapporo TV Tower, and even the Shrine Festival at Nakajima Park — which the kids thoroughly enjoyed thanks to the family-friendly snacks and interesting booths.

These extra visits were made possible through the helpful advice and transport suggestions provided by the company. We had the chance to try out various modes of transport — subway, tram, ropeway, and taxi — and found Sapporo to be very convenient and easy to navigate, even with young children. It was a fulfilling, well-paced trip that allowed us to enjoy both the highlights and hidden gems of Hokkaido.
