Having enjoyed many trips to Japan over the past 30 years, this was (amazingly) our first trip to Hokkaido. We were very pleasantly surprised to finally discover this island treasure. Over the course of our five-day tour, we encountered beautiful scenery, fascinating culture, delicious food and friendly people. All our expectations were exceeded. Our trip organizer and primary guide, Ms. Haruka Nakai, did a fabulous job with all the planning and preparation for our trip. Every detail was carefully considered. She is also a Hokkaido treasure :-). Our only regret is that it took us so long to finally discover this beautiful island but we’re very happy to have done so through Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a personalized, thoughtful and memorable experience.

The best aspect of our trip was the personalized and attentive driver (Shuji-san) and multiple expert English-speaking guides who graciously helped us to effectively navigate the cultural and language barriers with sensitivity and care, which saved us many potentially frustrating hours trying to navigate unfamiliar roads on our own, read Japanese menus and communicate with the multitude of hospitality providers (hotels, restaurants, shops, etc.) who only speak Japanese. As a result, we were able to maximize our time and significantly enhance our understanding of all the incredible things we saw. This vital component of our trip made the difference between what would have only been a nice trip and the incredible trip that we actually enjoyed. Thank you!
