Fumika was born in Hiroshima. She had been dreaming about visiting Hokkaido since she learned about the wild animals in Hokkaido, then she moved to Hokkaido to study agriculture and landscape architecture at Hokkaido University. She joined the cycling club in her university days, and traveled all over Hokkaido by bicycle. Cycling in the fresh air and big sky, she fell in love with the beauty of the landscape, kind people, rich and fresh food, and unique culture. Now she strongly wishes to tell how wonderful this island is to as many people as possible.

Since Fumika’s first career was as a landscape architect, she has always been interested in ecosystems and sustainable development. Hokkaido supports the whole of Japan as the largest agricultural field. She always feels excited about listening to farmer’s life, because they know a lot about the local environment.
Also, Hokkaido has a very unique ecosystem created by the climate and geology. Alpine lands, volcanos, rivers, plain fields and the sea are weaved together with clear four seasons, and create land for people or animals, unique sceneries, a lot of fun activities, and great food.
“I would like to keep learning about how the Hokkaido landscape has been created and changed, and contribute to the sustainability of this beautiful island by telling the story to the world.”
●WHY I LOVE WORKING IN TRAVEL:
“ People learn much more when they actually experience something, than they just sit down and read or google. Therefore travel can lead people to realize what is important for our lives, just like I did through cycling trips in my youth! I would like to design the best trip for the customers and create a life-changing experience.“
●Her favorites:
Hokkaido has very clear four seasons, and each season gives us a completely different experience. Whenever you come back to Hokkaido, you will be able to find something new; scenery, activity, wildlife, food, etc. That is what I like the most about Hokkaido. You cannot visit hokkaido too many times. So please come back, and let’s explore unseen attractions of Hokkaido!
